Director of New generation Photovoltaic Group, National Institute of for Materials Science(NIMS),Japan
Dr. Liyuan Han is currently Director of Next generation Photovoltaic group, NIMS, Japan. He got his Ph.D from University of Osaka Prefecture, Japan in 1988. From 1990 to 1993, he was a senior researcher in Central Research Laboratories, DIC Inc., Japan. From 1993 to 2008, he was the general manager of Advanced Energy Technologies Laboratories, Sharp Corporation, Japan. In June 2008, he joined in NIMS. Dr. Han has been focusing on the research of DSCs and organic thin film solar cells for 15 years. The research group led by him in Sharp reported the highest light-to-electricity conversion efficiency of DSCs in the world and also made great contribution to further development and practical application of DSCs.
报告题目:Highly Efficient Dye-sensitized Solar Cells
内容提要:
Dye-sensitized solar cells (DSCs) have been widely investigated as a next-generation solar cell because of low manufacturing cost. In comparison with bulk silicon solar cells, the energy conversion efficiency of DSCs should be improved. Development of new dye with wide absorbance and increase of light trapping effect for improvement of short circuit current density, reduction of internal series resistance for increase of fill factor, and development new additives for improvement of open circuit voltage were carried out for this purpose. The highest efficiency over 11% was achieved at small cell area. On the other hand, the upscaling of small cells to large area panels was also progressed: parallel grids module design and integrated module designs. The efficiency of ca. 8% was obtained. In this presentation, I am going to introduce current status and future aspect of DSCs and to talk our research results on the improvement of the efficiency of DSCs.
