报告摘要: Polymer solar cells have a large potential for becoming a low cost alternative to todays’ photovolltaic technologies. The talk will give an overview of the work done at Risø DTU and Aalborg University with emphasis on printed solar cells and materials development. Continuous roll-to-roll manufacturing of polymer solar cells is the key to their potential success. Risø DTU recently demonstrated the production of 10.000 small solar cell charged flashlights together with the company Mekoprint. The challenge is to develop a technology that has unique qualities with respect to production cost and production volume. A gradual improvement in performance, lifetime and production cost is expected for the next 10-15 years opening for more and more demanding applications with bulk electricity production as final goal. Unique qualities are ultra-low costs, extremely short energy payback time, low capital investment in production technology allowing for widespread production, and very high throughput. Additionally some organically synthetic work from Aalborg University will be presented at the end.
报告人简介: Dr. Peter Sommer-Larsen is head of the Solar Energy Programe at the National Laboratory for sustainable Energy at Technical University of Denmark (Risø DTU). The main resesearch area for the Programme is Polymer Solar Cells. He received a Ph.D. degree from the University of Copenhagen in 1990 in Physical Chemistry and has focused his research on advanced organic materials.
