The 11th Conference on Science and Technology of Emerging Solar Energy Materials
First round notice

The widespread application of solar energy is of paramount importance to accomplish carbon neutrality and solve the energy crisis and greenhouse gas effect. Currently, the key to realize the above targets lies in how to efficiently and cheaply complete solar-to-electricity conversion, photochemical conversion and energy storage. Exploring new mechanisms and new materials will undoubtedly accelerate the development process.
In recent years, new types of solar energy materials, including perovskite materials, have demonstrated outstanding conversion performance in different fields (such as emerging solar cells, light emitting and luminescence devices etc.) due to their direct bandgap, adjustable bandgap width, long carrier diffusion length, low defect density and simple manufacturing process. These materials not only show potentials in breaking through the traditional technical bottleneck in the photovoltaic field, but also show great application prospects in the field of LED lighting, which have already become hot research topics in recent years. Additionally, other emerging thin film solar cells such as organic photovoltaics, copper-based photovoltaics and quantum dot photovoltaics are on the rise, with power-conversion-efficiencies gradually increasing. New research directions in artificial photosynthesis based on photovoltaic and photo-thermal conversion also become research hotspots.
Improving the solar energy conversion efficiency relies on deep understanding the interaction between light and matter, photophysical processes and carrier dynamic processes. These processes also play a pivotal role in photo-to-thermal catalysis, photo-induced/electro-induced luminescence and photosynthesis. To push the development of new solar energy materials, new luminescent materials, and other photo-functional materials, promote interdisciplinary cooperation, cultivate new generation of scientific researchers, and strengthen international cooperation, the Luminescence Branch of Chinese Physical Society plans to hold the " 11th Conference on Science and Technology of Emerging Solar Energy Materials ".
